Stephen Colbert is making sure his unused Iran war jokes find a good home.
The comedian shipped a box full of material to Jimmy Kimmel after realizing that the conflict likely won't end before The Late Show comes to a close.
The final episode of the show is set for May 21.
Stephen Colbert is making sure that his sweet, sweet punchlines live on even after The Late Show comes to a close next month.
During his opening monologue on Wednesday, the 61-year-old comedian paused while discussing the war in Iran to ensure that he shipped all of his unused jokes about the conflict to Jimmy Kimmel.
"Yesterday, Trump announced that he was extending a ceasefire between the United States and Iran hours before it was set to expire," Colbert began. "This time, he did not specify an end date."

Which caused some concern for Colbert, whose last show is set to be held on May 21. “You know what?” he said. “I’m beginning to think this war might not be over by Memorial Day.”
So, Colbert is making sure that his material doesn’t go to waste. Approaching the camera, the late-night host took out a pen and began to address a large box to be sent to Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC.
When he stepped back, Colbert revealed that the box was labelled “Iran War jokes.” Speaking to Kimmel, he added, “Enjoy, buddy! Coming to you. Can we get this in the mail?”

As it turns out, unused Iran War jokes aren’t the only thing Colbert is giving away ahead of his last day behind the Late Show desk. He is also hosting a charity auction full of unique props and memorabilia.
Colbert showcased some of these very items with a little help from his fellow Daily Show costar Jon Stewart on Wednesday. Dressed in floral shirts, the pair turned into spit-taking salesmen as they encouraged viewers to purchase The Late Show sign, mugs, neckties, and a piece of red carpet.
“Last and also largest folks, we’re selling off the giant sign from the top of our set that reads, ‘The Late Show With,’” Colbert said. “Buy this and, like me, you can have The Late Show hanging over your head for the rest of your life.”
