Michael Douglas celebrated daughter Carys' 23rd birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post

Carys, a Brown University graduate, plans to pursue acting and follow in her parents' artistic footsteps

The family often shares birthday tributes on social media, with Carys previously honoring her parents' joint birthdays

Michael Douglas is honoring his youngest child on her 23rd birthday.

The 81-year-old actor took to Instagram to wish his daughter, Carys Douglas, a happy birthday with a special message on Monday, April 20.

The Oscar winner shared a photo of himself with his daughter at the PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala in October 2025. “Happy Birthday Carys! May YOUR new year bring you joy and inspiration,” Michael wrote in the caption. “All the love in the world! @carys.douglas ♥️ Dad.”

Carys responded in the comments by writing, “Thank you Dadda ❤️ I love you so so much.”

Michael is also dad to son Cameron, 47, whom he shares with his ex-wife Diandra Luker, as well as son Dylan, 25. He shares Dylan and Carys with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The family loves celebrating birthdays on social media.

Back in September, Carys honored her parents' joint birthdays with a sweet family photo. “September 25th 🤍Happy Birthday Mom and Dadda !! Your love of life, love, learning, art… there are no words to describe my gratitude and admiration,” she wrote at the time.

This past fall, Carys opened up to PEOPLE about her post-college plans, and how she intends to follow in her famous parents' footsteps. “I grew up doing theater, and I didn't study acting in school, but that's why I'm happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that,” she said.

Carys attended Brown University, graduating last spring with a degree in Film and International Relations.

At the time, Carys also admitted that she occasionally steals items from her famous mother's closet. “I love vintage clothes. I don't really like to buy, I'm not really into fast fashion stuff, just for sustainability reasons, so I feel very lucky that I have a wonderful closet that I can pick from," she said.

Carys then quipped, "I should probably tell her more, because I snag a little too much. She's like, ‘Is that my bag?' I'm like, ‘I don't know. I don't think so.' "
