Emily Ann Roberts has been left heartbroken after her husband, Chris Sasser, revealed he lost his wedding ring while on an outing with friends. The country singer and former American Idol alum recently reacted to the unfortunate news in a post shared on social media.

On Saturday, Dec. 20, Sasser, 27, uploaded the clip to his personal Instagram page, telling followers the pricy, prized possession went missing somewhere on the golf course. At the time, his wife, who rose to fame as the runner-up on Season 9 of NBC’s The Voice, was unaware of the situation. And, Sasser was certain she’d be upset when she found out all about it.

“Well, she’s gonna kill me,” he said before making his way to his wife to come clean about the situation.

Emily Ann Roberts Purchased a Ring for Her Husband Earlier This Year

While Sasser didn't specify the details of the missing ring, he was likely referring to the one Roberts bought him during the summer of 2025. Roberts has shared several videos of her journey in picking out and buying that specific ring, which can be viewed below.

Upon learning what had happened out on the golf course, Roberts was seemingly in disbelief.

“Emily, I do have bad news. I lost my wedding ring,” Sasser can be heard telling her from behind the camera lens, to which she replies, “No, you didn’t. No, you didn’t. This is a joke.”

Insisting that it, indeed, was not a joke, Sasser said, “I literally lost it. I don’t know where…..I seriously did lose it…. It was loose, and somewhere I pulled my glove off.”

“I’m actually sweating,” a mortified and red-faced Roberts said while pulling at the collar of her sweater. “....put the camera away.”

Doing his best to try to look at the bright side of a bad situation, Sasser joked, “But guess what, at least I did win in golf….”

“We’ll get a cheap one this time. I’m sorry,” he added. “We left our phone number so maybe somebody will [find it].... I’ll get a rubber band or something.”

The Couple Is Sharing the News in Hopes Someone Might Come Across the Wedding Ring

“If anybody happens to be playing golf at Heritage Golf Course in Oneonta, AL, and you find it, holler at your girl,” Roberts, 27, wrote in the comments section of her post, hoping that a good Samaritan will find the wedding ring.

In a separate comment, she wrote, “I wanna vomit.”

Folks reacted to the news in the comments section of the post, with several people either looking for ways to help with the search or expressing sympathy for the couple’s loss of an item that symbolizes love, commitment, and unity.

“Bless your sweet heart. We live close to Oneonta, and my husband has a metal detector if you want to borrow it, or he can help,” one person wrote, while another follower added, “I live in Oneonta. I’ll tell people I know who live there.”

“Oh no!” A third person wrote, while a fourth follower added, “Praying you’ll find it. Miracles happen.”

High school sweethearts Roberts and Sasser tied the knot in 2020. While it’s unknown, at this time, whether the ring will turn up, Roberts shared that she has a backup plan.

“I guess I know what I’m getting him for Christmas,” she said.
