Christina Aguilera Shocks Fans With a Short New Bob and Micro Bangs

Christina Aguilera turned heads when she appeared in Santa Monica for the 12th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. Her usual long locks were styled into a voluminous bob with micro bangs.

As reported by In Style, she was styled by Chris Horan. “Aguilera paired her new strikingly modern bob with an equally modern look,” the outlet said. “She opted for a black gown from Salih Balta's fall 2026 collection … She completed the look with a diamond choker with a large black stone pendant and a pair of diamond drop earrings.”

Many fans on Reddit approved of her bold new look, calling her a “goddess” and saying she “looks like a teenager again.” One raved, “Seeing her in person this year was amazing, and guys let me tell you… She looks even better in person!”

The Breakthrough Prize Ceremony celebrates the research achievements of the top scientists in the world. Prizes are presented in the fields of Mathematics, Life Sciences, and Fundamental Physics.

Aguilera attended the event with her fiancé, Matthew Rutler, who she has been with since meeting on the set of Burlesque where he worked as a production assistant. The pair have been engaged since Valentine's Day in 2014 and share a daughter. Aguilera also has a son with her ex-husband, music producer Jordan Bratman, who she divorced in 2011.

“He’s the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it’s daylight,” Aguilera told People when speaking about Rutler.

Although they have been engaged for years, a source told Us Weekly in 2022, “There are no wedding plans at the moment. [Christina] and Matt are happy the way they are. They’re one of those couples who don’t need a document to prove their love for each other.”
