Sean Lowe is looking back on horrific dog attacks that changed his life forever.
Appearing as a guest on the Sunday, Dec. 21, episode of Jordan Syatt's eponymous podcast, the 42-year-old Bachelor alum opened up about a March 2025 incident, when his family dog viciously attacked him twice in 12 hours, without provocation.
āI was just telling someone, I donāt really have PTSD,ā Lowe told Syatt, before sharing details about the frightening moments.

āItās funny because Iām such a dog lover and Iād never thought twice about putting my face in a dogās face. But now I do think twice about doing stuff like that,ā the former reality star said.
He continued, āThe only PTSD I have is the thought of, āWhat if it had bit my children?' ā
Lowe, who shares two young sons and a daughter with his wife Catherine, was having friends over for a barbecue on March 13 when smoke from the grill drifted inside the house and triggered the smoke alarm, which also triggered his dog, a boxer named Moose.
Thankfully, Catherine and the kids werenāt home because they had gone to the mall.
The father of three said Moose ādefinitely would have killed my children, or my wife, for that matter,ā had they been present during the attack.
āSo, I think about that quite a bit, but for the most part, Iām doing pretty good,ā Lowe said.
The family had adopted Moose from a shelter less than three months before the attack, which left them stunned because the canine had always been affectionate until then.
Later in the podcast, Lowe added, āI refuse to say I have any sort of PTSD, simply because there are real men whoāve been in battle who actually have things like that. I was attacked by my family pet, so Iām not going to apply myself as that.ā

Sean Lowe says he was attacked by his dog
Lowe shared the news on social media in an emotional Instagram video with his wife by his side on March 17.
āOur family has been through something pretty traumatic over the weekend,ā he said at the start of the clip, which visibly showed fresh scars and stitches on both arms.
āHe shows his teeth at me and just attacks me. I donāt mean bite and then run off ā like a lot of dogs do when theyāre scared or defensive ā I mean attacks me,ā Lowe said of the encounter. āI feel him ripping into the flesh of my arm and at this point Iām doing everything I possibly can just to fend this dog off... I know Iām bleeding badly.ā
The former television star said he felt like he was āfighting forā his life, thinking he punctured an artery because there was āa pool of bloodā on the floor.
Eventually, his friends were able to intervene and take him to the ER.
Unfortunately, before they could have the dog removed from the home, āHe made a B-line right at me and just lunged and started attacking me againā the following morning.
āIt took everything I had to control this dog and Iām 220 pounds,ā he continued. āIf it were anyone else, he wouldāve killed my children or my wife.ā

Lowe held off Moose for about 10 minutes until the cops and ambulance arrived. He then went back to the emergency room for additional stitches to his other arm.
In the end, Lowe didnāt blame Moose; instead, he said the adoptive pet āexperienced a lot of trauma before we got him and had something neurologically wrong where just a switch flipped and he turned into an absolute killer.ā

āOverall, Iām super grateful it was me and it was not my kids or my wife. And that I made it out relatively unscathed. Iāll have scarred arms for the rest of my life but I can live with that,ā Lowe said.
He concluded, āWeāre torn up about it. And we miss our dog, as crazy as it sounds.ā
