*The View *cohost, former Donald Trump White House staffer, and new mom, Alyssa Farah Griffin, has finally returned to the Hot Topics table following a two-month absence on maternity leave.
Following the February birth of her first child, baby Justin, with husband Justin Griffin, the 36-year-old reclaimed her seat at the panel Monday morning, ending her conservative commentator's lengthy hiatus from the long-running talk show.
"More than anything, we’re thrilled to have Alyssa back," moderator Whoopi Goldberg said at the top of Monday's show, marking Griffin's first time back in her seat since February.
“I missed you so much. I’m back, I’m a human lighter, but he’s here, he’s with us, little Justin is the most magical thing,” Griffin told her colleagues. “My world just feels more magical and full, and I’m so grateful to him."**

Griffin also gave a "shout-out to nurses who are literally angels in scrubs," and praised her peers for being "amazing while I was gone," quipping, "it's way better on TV than at the table!"
Goldberg previously announced earlier in April that Griffin would return to the table following the show's annual spring break, which typically occurs around the Easter holiday each year.
"I'm so overjoyed," Griffin said of her pregnancy on the air in October. "I went through IVF, it was hard, it took us about a year, it took us five rounds, but he's here, he's coming!"
Griffin has long been open about her IVF journey ahead of her first pregnancy. In December 2024, she opened up about cohosts Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin helping her through the difficult process.

"My husband and I have been hoping, trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half, and it wasn't happening naturally, so we made the decision to move forward with IVF. This is my second cycle, so, tomorrow I will be in the doctor's office dealing with that," Griffin said at the time. "I wanted to share it for a couple of reasons. I had no idea at my age how hard this actually would be. I'm only 35 and, to me, I was like, I've got plenty of time, this won't be that difficult. I'm healthy, I work out, I eat right. My body was just not cooperating."
Prior to joining *The View* in 2022, Griffin worked under Trump on the White House's communications team, though she eventually resigned and subsequently spoke out against the president in later years.

In her absence at the top of 2026, Griffin was temporarily replaced by other Republican panelists, including reality star and MAGA supporter Savannah Chrisley, comedian Sheryl Underwood, Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, and former permanent *View* cohosts Abby Huntsman (2018-2020) and Elisabeth Hasselbeck (2003-2013).
Hasselbeck's return came after the conservative voice publicly slammed current cohost Joy Behar for speaking out against *American Idol* winner and judge Carrie Underwood for deciding to perform at Trump's second presidential inauguration in January 2025.**
The pair didn't address the incident on the air, though Hasselbeck did call for civility among political discussions on her first day back.
*The View* airs weekdays on ABC.
